QOTD – Day #3

Hi guys!

The final quote is…

5568ab0a3eed85ed35102db4c2087f9b.jpg

As many of you may know, I love acting. In fact, I have a play coming up in just over a week.

I liked this quote because there is truth behind it. It’s sometimes hard not to find a part of yourself in the character you play, whether you put it there, or it was already there for you.

Lol, something that I put in my characters, are glasses. (Prepare for a really, REALLY bad example) I wear glasses and my characters don’t…

Me: I DON YOU GLASSES DEAR FRIEND.

Character: But I don’t wear-

Me: GLASSES. FOR YOU. FROM ME.

Character: But-

Me: YOU ARE WELCOME.

… πŸ˜›
If I’m being honest, everything that I’m finding that is like myself was already in the character. I didn’t put it there; the writers did. Then I found out the similarities during rehearsal. But still, it is like myself.

Anyways, I leave this (once again) as an open nomination. Enjoy πŸ˜›

QOTD – Day #2

Hi guys!

Welcome to quote of the day challenge day #2!!!! Only one more day to go already πŸ˜›

Today’s quote is:

Without-music-life-would-be-a-mistake.-Friedrich-Nietzsche

Music is so important to me. It tells a story in such a beautiful melodic way. It can make you happy, sad, excited, dance, sing, and feel just plain good about life. Music is such a good way to forget about whatever problem you had the minute before. Typically, whenever I’m upset, I put on some Sabrina Carpenter music, dance around the room, sing-along and appreciate the lyrics. Soon enough, I won’t feel bad anymore.

I leave this as open nomination! Say I nominated you! πŸ˜€

Quote of the Day Challenge – Day 1

Hi guys!

Thanks so much to Lily from Writings and Ramblings to nominate me for this challenge that I have been wanting to do for so very long! Please go check out Lily’s blog, it is super cool πŸ˜€

Before I started, I wanted to shout out to Heather from The Girl of Many Fictional Names because on the last day of NaPoWriMo she completed my challenge to find out which line was from which poem and she made very few mistakes (and she made me realize that I forgot a poem to add to the final one :P). So thanks so much Heather for doing that (and making me have to go look back at all of my poems xD).

Alright, the first quote for today is…Malala-Quote-10.10-Twitter.png

I love Malala Yousafzai. I highly recommend you read her autobiography, “I Am Malala”.

It’s not exactly the quote that I love about this… not to say that this quote isn’t absolutely amazing and true, but it’s the person behind the quote. Malala has so much hope for the world and the fact that she so strongly believes that one child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world, is incredible to me. Especially after she suffered so much in Pakistan because of the Taliban. She is a truly incredible person.

Today I nominate…

Megan/A Barefoot Gal

Allison/A Farm Girl’s Life

K.A./Cuddly Critter’s Blog

If you guys have already done this challenge, please feel free to do it again πŸ™‚

Comment down below if you’ve read Malala’s book or if you love Malala as much as I do!! πŸ˜€

Quote #3

Hi guys!

I have another quote for you today! This one is very famous.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

-Martin Luther King, Jr.

This is a very well known quote and a very important one too. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a very influential and good man.

I care very deeply about these kinds of things. My best friend is black and she has been judged by the color of her skin. Why do we judge people because of that? We’re all exactly the same.

I wear glasses. Is that supposed to make me different? Why is it so important to other people about how we are different because of the way we look? People with glasses are sometimes labeled “Geeks” or “Nerds”. Why do people decide that because of something that makes us different, we are practically upsetting the whole balance of the world.

This is not to say that I have been insulted because of my glasses, but people have been insulted by their skin colors and their beliefs. I don’tΒ understand that at all.

If you take a picture of yourself and then edit it to make your skin a different color, that doesn’t change you as a person.

Katie.png

These pictures are almost EXACTLY the same. The one on the left is what I look like in real life. The one on the right is me with black skin. Did that change me at all? Judging by my expressions, what I’m wearing, and what I’m typing right now, do you think I would be a different person if I had black skin?

We were all created equal. Sometimes I wonder why some people don’t think that.

Comment down below on what you think about the quote. Please be respectful.

Quote #2

Hi guys!

Here is the second quote, but before I post it, I want to say that I don’t know this person and I’ve heard this quote only a few times. I searched quotes on a website to find these. I like posting quotes on my blog but I don’t know too many quotes. That is why I use a website. Anyways, here’s the quote:

Friends are the siblings God never gave us.

-Mencius

Let me start by saying that I am not religious. I don’t necessarily believe in God or a higher power. But this quote really stands out to me, because there are some beautiful friendships in the world. It seems like it’s true that these people are our siblings.

I mean, lots of people call very good friends “family”. I have great friends who relate to me so much and they make me laugh and smile. I consider them a part of my family, but we’re not related.

Friends are so important to us, very much like family. We know that we can rely on our true friends. We know that they will support us and all of our decisions. We can compare and contrast friends and family and we will have many comparisons. One of the main contrasts is that you and your friends are not related.

Or are you?

Well, you’re probably not related to your best friend, but that doesn’t mean your cousin or sister or brother couldn’t be your best friend. There are so many different kinds of friendships.

There are friends who met in preschool who stay friends forever. There are twins who have already decided that they were built-in BFFs. There are girls and their aunts or mothers or even grandmothers.

I say that people who care about you and support you are family. Whether they are related to you or not.
