The Book Lovers Tag – This was made for me

Hi guys!

Thanks so much Grace for nominating me for this tag! I love doing these challenges and this one stands out to me because…..

Ahem *cough cough*, anyways.

Go check out Grace’s blog, she is currently doing NaPoWriMo like me (except her poetry is a lot more insightful :P), her blog is super cool and also her blog among others is featured in my “Other Awesome Blogs” page.

Anyways! Let’s get to the questions!! πŸ˜€

Do you have a specific place for reading?

I almost never read a book when I’m not in my room. And that’s really just because I’m a night reader. I can’t fall asleep very well and I get really bored and unhappy when I just leave myself to my own thoughts at night, so I read. That can also mean staying up late (for my standards).

Bookmarks or a random piece of paper?

Even when I made a whole bunch of bookmarks, I hardly ever used them, but here’s a twist… I don’t use paper either! So you all must be on the edge of your seats yelling, “Katie, Katie, what do you do?! I need to know how you could not mark your spot in a book!!!” I used to just (get ready to cringe) fold over the corner of the page. But now I just kind of try to remember my spot.

Can you just stop anywhere or do you need to finish a chapter?

I can usually stop just anywhere, mostly because (like I said) I read at night and I typically tend to get super tired in the middle of reading something and I’ll be like, “This is my chance! Don’t move until you fall asleep or you might not be able to fall asleep at all!”

Do you eat or drink while reading?

Well, I’m not supposed to eat in bed, but there are plenty of nights where I’ll curl up under my blanket with a nice cold glass of water and a big long book.

Music or TV while reading?

I don’t like silence at night. It lets me think to much and the silence isn’t comforting, so every night I turn on the same darned Taylor Swift CD “Speak Now”. I’ve listened to that almost EVERY NIGHT since Christmas. So definitely music. I can’t focus on reading when the TV is on, even if it’s a show I don’t like.

Do you prefer to read at home or elsewhere?

I think I’ve made it pretty clear that I read in bed at home xD Whenever I’m somewhere else, I’m usually doing something, so I don’t really have as much time to read.

Read out loud or silently?

Silently! …Is there any other way? πŸ˜›

Do you read ahead or skip pages?

No! That would be terrible! I don’t want to ruin the story!

Breaking the spine or keeping it new?

I think almost every question leads back to me reading in bed. There isn’t really a question. When you read in bed, the book is gonna bend, fall on the floor, etc. There is almost no “keeping it new”. Sucks for the brand new library books πŸ˜›

Do you write in your books?

No. That is the one thing that I do keep new, the pages. Unless they are accidentally torn or bent, the pages are typically fine. No writing.

That was fun! I leave this as OPEN NOMINATION!

Thanks for reading guys!

Describe the Days of the Week as People tag

Hi guys!

Loren from Blue Eyes, Gray Eyes did this tag and left it as an open nomination so naturally, I had to do it. Thanks Loren πŸ˜‰ (also, I only got a glimpse at one of Loren’s answers. I’m not going to read them until I post mine)

Monday – Monday is always depressed and bored. She sits around at school wondering when it’s going to end. Monday wishes she were Friday. Monday typically runs into things she doesn’t want to run into and the day for her drags on for so very long. Once, she actually got after-school detention so the day lasted even longer. She hated it.

Tuesday – Tuesday is Monday’s perky little sister. Tuesday always sees the best in everyone and everything. Β She looks ahead with no doubts that the rest of the week will be great. Because, why not? The hard part of the week is gone and she is ready to rock and roll into the rest of the week.

Wednesday – Wednesday is very up and down. She has happy times and sad times. She is happy that the hard part of the week is gone but sad that there’s still a ways to go before the week ends. Wednesday likes to wear more semi-formal clothes. She is always trying to keep herself busy too.

Thursday – Thursday is a total tease. Thursday likes to taunt people. “Hahaha! I am the only thing standing in the way between you and Friday!” he says. If you just kind of ignore him and get on with your day, he’ll probably leave you alone. Besides, at night, Thursday comes alive and is (surprisingly) ready to suffer a graceful defeat.

Friday – Friday is super laid back. Friday likes to relax and hang with friends and watch TV. Friday is home-schooled. He can take a break from all the crazy ups and downs of life and just slap on his flip-flops for a beach vacay. Friday is the kind of guy that everyone wants to be friends with.

Saturday – Saturday is a social butterfly. She always (and I mean ALWAYS) has plans. If she’s not hanging with Derek, she’s hanging with Alyssa. If she’s not hanging with Alyssa, she’s catching a movie with Jackie. If she’s not at the movies, she’s on a date with James and the list goes on and on and on. She believes that other people are the secret to your own happiness. That’s why she hardly ever goes anywhere without someone else.

Sunday – Sunday is very nostalgic. He likes to sit down and wonder, “Where has the week gone?” You can typically find him sitting down, watching TV and pondering the reality of the sitcom he’s watching. It’s actually kind of sad… “I wonder if it is really possible for cars to have a mind of their own like Lightning McQueen?”

There you go! I nominate everyone reading this! Comment down below and tell me if you agree with my descriptions or what you might have said!

Thanks for reading!

The Liebster Award: The Liebster Returns

Hi guys!

This is my second time doing the Liebster award and I can’t wait to answer these questions!

The rules are:

  1. Link back to the person who tagged you (Thank you Genna@Genna’sBalletPlace)
  2. Answer all 11 questions
  3. Tag 11 bloggers who have less than a thousand readers
  4. Ask them 11Β questions
  5. Let them know you’ve tagged them through social media

Okay, here are the questions and answers:

Umm… not on my blog? Probably when I got picked to be Dorothy in the play coming this May.

When did you last get a haircut?

Early December, I believe.

How many times have you painted your toenails in the last week?

Umm…. counting this week, last week and today…. ZERO. πŸ˜›

Favorite beach memory?

My family goes on a beach vacation every summer, and I think any time that I wake up to see the sunrise and hear the birds chirp and the waves crashing only a minute-long walk away from the motel is an amazing feeling… Ugh! Talking about it makes me miss it even more! πŸ˜›

How many siblings do you have?

One little brother. I’m putting him up for sale, though, if anyone wants him. πŸ˜›

How long is your hair?

About medium length, one hands length below my shoulder.

What is your favorite hairstyle?

I love cute, curly bob cuts. Sadly, my hair has always been long and completely straight. 😦 πŸ˜›

Acting! Acting, acting, acting all the way! That was the easiest question! πŸ˜›

Eye color?

Magenta with a dash of cinnamon red and a little gray speck! πŸ™‚ …………I’m totally kidding. They’re brown.

Where do you want to live when you grow up?

New York would be great. I would absolutely LOVE to go to Paris but I think it would be hard to LIVE there.

Favorite quote (or five)?

“Be yourself; Everyone else is already taken.” ~Oscar Wilde. You can see my posts that explain further the meaning of quotes (including this one) here.

Alright, I don’t know eleven bloggers who haven’t done this so I nominate anyone and everyone reading this. Say I tagged you. πŸ™‚

The Music Tag

Hi guys!

So, technically I wasn’t nominated for this tag, but Bernie from Bernie’s Musings and Doings left it as an open nomination, so I’m going for it (because I’m TOTALLY OBSESSED with music!!!!!).

Rules are:

  1. Write ten songs that come on shuffle (no skipping)
  2. Write your favorite lyrics from each song
  3. Tag some people

So, am I supposed to shuffle my music and then listen to ten songs without skipping? I’m confuddled (which means confused and befuddled). I’m just going to go into my spotify playlist and… play it. πŸ˜› Omg, I have 125 songs. OMG ONE OF MY FAVORITE CAME ON AS THE FIRST πŸ˜€ (sorry, I’m a music freak).

Anyways the first song that came on was:

  1. Hey, Soul Sister by Train. This is such an uplifting song. One of my favorite lyrics from the song is “Hey soul sister, I don’t want to miss a single thing you do, tonight.” This song is so sweet and cheery. I really want to sing it right now. It’s almost guaranteed to brighten your day.
  2. The next song is New Soul by Yael Naim. Not one of my favorites but definitely good. “This is a happy end, come and give me your hand, I’ll take you far away,” is one of my favorite lyrics from this song. Okay, I know the rule is no skip, but I’m going to skip to the next song which is…
  3. Try by Colbie Caillat. I LOVE this song! It is so inspiring for girls! My favorite line in the song is basically the whole chorus. “You don’t have to try so hard, you don’t have to give it all away. You just have to get up, get up, get up, you don’t have to change a single thing” and “Wait a second why should you care what they think of you, when you’re all alone, by yourself, do you like you, do you like you?” are probably my favorite lines.
  4. We’ll Be The Stars by Sabrina Carpenter. I am obsessed with Sabrina Carpenter. Her music is so poetic and upbeat! My favorite line is probably, “We can reach the constellations, trust me all our dreams our breaking out”. I could listen to Sabrina Carpenter all day. Especially her new song “Smoke and Fire”.
  5. Another Sabrina Carpenter song (I have a lot of them in my playlist), The Middle of Starting Over. “Tired of all the troubles, they’ve been wasting my time; I don’t wanna fight, gonna leave it behind; Taking on fate, now I’m ready to fly, I’m in the middle of starting over” is like, half the chorus and my favorite part. Okay, cheating again. Skip song (even though I love Sabrina Carpenter).
  6. OMG, Sabrina again (I swear it’s on shuffle)! One of my definite faves; Your Love’s Like. “It’s like flowers in the Springtime, everyday is Valentine’s, so good it’s hard to describe; It’s like Paris after midnight, dancing in the moonlight, that’s what your love’s, that’s what your love’s like”, Did I mention that I really, really want to go to Paris? πŸ˜› The next one is…. an AD! Yay, Spotify! πŸ˜› OMG, three ads……… WHYYYYYYY?
  7. Top of the World by Bridgit Mendler. Not my favorite song by her, but COMPLETELY awesome! She has the best songs. I think Hurricane is my favorite song by her, but for this song my favorite line is “You’re making me trip my heart skip, skip a beat”. Okay, gotta skip.
  8. True Love by Dove Cameron from Liv and Maddie. Yes. I have Liv and Maddie songs in my playlist. Don’t judge. “If I could do it all over, baby I’d do it different. Maybe I wouldn’t be here, in this position” is my favorite line from the song. Skippedy, skip skip.
  9. YES! Good Time by Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen! I think it’s against the law to skip this song! “Slept in all my clothes like I didn’t care, hopped into a cab, take me anywhere” is an awesome line along with “Let’s hang out if you’re down to get down tonight”. Also “Good morning and good night, I wake up at twilight, it’s gonna be alright, we don’t even have to try, it’s always a good time.” And pretty much every line in this song.
  10. (I Can’t) Forget About You by R5. OMG. LOVE. THIS. SONG. I’m such a music freak. “Baby I think I’ve lost my mind, feels like you crashed into my life, I keep on losing track of time, I’m so messed up. I’m so messed up!” and the chorus of this song is FANTASTIC!Β
  11. And extra song just because, Eyes Wide Open by (guess who?) Sabrina Carpenter. “I think about my granddad’s eyes and they always send me home” is such a sweet line in this beautiful song. This is such a cool song. And if you watched Disney Channel quite a few months back, you might have heard this song. “I’m about to make my way, Heaven only keep my faith from my eyes wide open” is another amazing line in this beautiful song.

OMG, I think this was the best tag I’ve ever done. Please tag me for more music tags! πŸ˜› Ohh, Someone Like You by Adele is on now.

Anyways, I nominate:

Grace@FromTheTipOfGrace’sPen (I know you’re still catching up on stuff Grace, so feel free to do it whenever you want) πŸ™‚

and whoever else wants to do this challenge! I highly recommended it! You can say I nominated you. πŸ™‚

Comment down below if you listen to any of these songs or if you’re a music FREAK like I am! I’m going to go rock out to some awesome music! πŸ˜›

Thanks for reading guys!

“Humorous, shy, fragile like a butterfly.”

Read It and Weep award… I’m making it a thing!

Hi guys!

I wanted to make a blogging challenge and I was hoping you guys could help me spread it. This is what I came up with:

This challenge is to share with people the things that really make you feel something (either really happy or sad or determined or whatever). The rules are:

  1. Answer the required questions below.
  2. Nominate 5 bloggers (or as many as you want).
  3. Send the link to your post to the person who nominated you and thank them.
  4. Make 5 completely RANDOM questions for your nominees to answer (just for fun)
  5. Enjoy it!

Okay, here are the questions that must be answered (I shall answer them):

Are there any songs that make you feel something emotionally?

I just recently heard the song “Piece By Piece” by Kelly Clarkson. It’s about how her dad left her when she was little. It is such an emotional song. Especially when she sang it on American Idol. Even Keith Urban was crying!

Are there any books or stories that make you feel something emotionally?

When I was little, I kind of cried when I read the first book in the “Kirsten” series of American Girl books because *spoiler* Kirsten’s best friend dies. But other than that, not off the top of my head, but I heard that The Fault In Our Stars is good and I will (hopefully) read it soon.

Are there any quotes that make you feel something emotionally?

Not exactly true emotion, but I very much like the quote “Be yourself; Everyone else is already taken.” which was said by Oscar Wilde. I posted about it on my blog recently.

Is there an event in your life or on the news that makes you feel something emotionally (that you feel comfortable sharing)?

My grandmother died when I was a little girl and I don’t remember her too much. But I would do anything to bring her back. She died of lung cancer. So really when I see anyone I love smoking a cigarette, that’s kind of heartbreaking.

Are there any people who inspire you in life?

Oh my gosh, so many people. I love Helen Keller and her teacher Anne Sullivan. I also think that Malala Yousafazai is an amazing girl. She survived a bullet to the head and then she went on to inspire people and girls to learn as much as they can and never give up.

Alright, I nominate these people to do this challenge (you do not have to do it if you don’t want to):

And everyone reading this!

Okay nominees, here are the totally random and fun questions for you to answer:

  1. If you could go on a week-long vacation to anywhere in the world, where would you go?
  2. Do you have any stuffed animals?
  3. Dream pet? (Can be absolutely anything that comes out of your brain)
  4. Favorite singer/song/composer/etc.?
  5. Favorite book series or trilogy (no individual books)?

Again, you totally do not have to do this, but it would be cool if it became another big blogging challenge! Remember to send me the link to your answers!!!

Thanks for reading!
